From Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Bes vase, a jar with its neck shaped as the face of the god, with round ears, almond shaped eyes, a wide nose, and thin lips from which his tongue sticks out in a frightening grimace is the focus of the new exhibition curated by Federica Facchetti for the project "In the Researcher’s Workshop".

On display from 13th June until 21st August 2022, the exhibition also features other artefacts which tell the multifaceted Bes, a god with many fields of competences: guardian of childhood, family, fertility as well as the protector of sleep and deceased. He is also the god of dance, music and of soldiers. A god for every needs! For this reason it is not a surprise to find Bes portrayed in one of the most common artifact: the vase.

Moreover, the characteristics of the god allow to formulate hypothesis about his role as liquid container which gain magical powers once poured in the Bes vase.

Federica Facchetti will accompany you on two special visits on 5th July and 16th August 2022 at 4.30 pm. Book your ticket HERE
