The Museo Egizio continues to share its story through the Integrated Report. The 2024 edition is now available.
The 2024 Integrated Report of the Museo Egizio is online—an instrument of transparency and accountability that retraces the results of an extraordinary year: the bicentenary of its founding, celebrated with a rich programme of cultural initiatives and new installations.
Below are the main highlights.
A Year of Transformation
Among the key initiatives: the installation of new galleries—most notably the new Galleria dei Re—and the return of the Rock-Cut Chapel of Ellesiya to the public. Other milestones include the reconfiguration of part of the permanent exhibition and the launch of the works to cover the Museum’s central courtyard, which will become the Piazza Egizia. All these actions are aimed at making the Museum increasingly accessible, inclusive, and in constant dialogue with its audiences.
The 200th anniversary celebrations, held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, attracted visitors of all ages from around the world—especially during Festival 200, which welcomed over 23,000 people in just three days.
A Commitment Looking to the Future
The 2024 Integrated Report offers a comprehensive overview of the achievements to date and the strategic directions that will guide the Museum in the years ahead: a strong focus on innovation, the enhancement of its collections, and the expansion of educational and research activities.
The document is also an opportunity to thank all those who contributed to this important milestone and continue to support the Museo Egizio in meeting the challenges of the future: from the Founding Members and Board of Directors, to partner companies, sponsors, professionals, collaborators, and supporters.
A Living, Open, and Responsive Museum
In this way, the Museo Egizio continues its path as a cultural and scientific reference point on an international scale—fully aware that the vitality of an institution lies in its ability to innovate, engage, and build bridges between past, present, and future.
