With the new exhibition room "In search of Life" the Museo Egizio aims at confronting not only with the study of human remains, but also with the theme of their exhibition and the ethical implications that characterize it.

This highly complex theme sees the Museum engaged in constant dialogue, on the one hand with its public, and on the other with the national and international scientific community. In particular, between September and October 2019 the Museum has decided to commission the data analysis company "Quorum" to carry out a survey to investigate the opinion of  the audience on the theme of exhibiting human remains in a museum context.

From November onwards, the IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, is supporting a research to investigate the public's feelings about the display and use for research of human remains in museums, as part of the PhD project: "Exhibiting human remains: a transversal issue between ethic, museology, archaeology, and law" led by Dr Nicola Crescenzi, supervised by Prof. Maria Luisa Catoni.
