From Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The transformation construction work at the Museo Egizio is well underway. The works will culminate in the construction of a cover for the courtyard, which will become the new focal point of the museum: an open, permeable space connected to the outside.
To allow for the initial construction of the cover, the museum will be closed to the public from June 17th to July 12th, 2024.
During the closure period, follow us here and on the Museo Egizio's social media channels for updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and exclusive content.
Additionally, during the temporary closure period, there will be an immersive installation, of which we will soon share more details.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Museo Egizio starting July 13th. Stay tuned as we will soon open reservations for the first weekend after reopening!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Spazio ZeroSei
Spazio ZeroSei will do its last family activity over the weekend between 25 and 26 May 2024.
Bookshop
Between the 27th and 31st May our Bookshop will be moved and will then be available to the public along the galleries (on mezzanine and 2nd floor).
"Silvio Curto" Library
The library will be closed to the public from June 17th to July 15th.
Reservations
On May 30th, the telephone service of the Reservations Office will not be available continuously.
Wardrobe
From June, 1st the cloakroom service will be suspended, which is why we ask the public not to bring large luggage, suitcases or backpacks, which unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate.
Historic Galleries
The transformation works of the museum involve the closure of the underground level. The historic galleries cannot therefore be visited.
To allow for the initial construction of the cover, the museum will be closed to the public from June 17th to July 12th, 2024.
