From ritual improvisation to the baroque Follia, which transforms into klezmer and jazz dance; from Brahms’ rarefied lark song to the vibrant rhythms of the present, performed using the body and everyday objects.
Clarinets and percussion traverse eras and forms, from silence to pulse, from the sacred to play. A sonic journey that not only narrates but transforms.

Music by Corelli, Brahms, Koshinski, Heilborn, Barbera, Framarin.

Riflessi

A sparkling sonic mosaic that moves through the centuries with both lightness and depth.

Sound
A journey into the heart of American hard bop jazz through the distinctive sound of Hank Mobley, exploring the musical world of one of the most influential saxophonists in jazz history.
From original compositions to the masterpieces that defined the sound of the legendary Blue Note Records: thirty years of music that marked the evolution of American jazz.
An authentic musical experience that celebrates Hank Mobley’s artistic legacy, with unforgettable melodies and the unmistakable energy of golden-age hard bop.

Sunday, 24 August – 11:00 AM

Crossover
Flute and harp: a dialogue of sounds between tradition and modernity. A programme that spans eras and styles, from the elegance of the French Belle Époque with works by Gabriel Fauré and Camille Saint-Saëns to the passionate tango of Astor Piazzolla, and the contemporary tones of Yiruma and Conant.
The refined combination of flute and harp gives life to a kaleidoscope of emotions: from the nostalgia of Pavane to the sensuality of Oblivion, from the lyricism of Siciliana to the virtuosity of Baroque Flamenco.
A musical journey that connects European classical tradition with the evocative power of Argentine tango and modern music.
An intimate and engaging sound experience where each piece tells a different story through the perfect dialogue between two poetically expressive instruments.

Curated by Fondazione Merz

Stefania Saglietti – harp
Federico Longhi – baritone

Verso il Novecento
A programme exploring French and Italian music, with masterpieces by Reynaldo Hahn, Charles Gounod, and Gabriel Fauré.
The intimate and magical character of these chamber romances is enhanced by harp accompaniment, a practice already common at the time of their composition.
The concert continues with works by Francesco Paolo Tosti, vocal teacher to Queen Margherita of Savoy, in which a distinctly Italian lyricism emerges, balancing sentimentality and popular tradition.

Music by Viotti, Tosti, Gounod, Debussy, Hahn, Fauré.
