Lost and found and cloakroom

Due to ongoing architectural renovation works, the cloakroom service is currently suspended; therefore, it is not possible to leave jackets, items, bags, umbrellas, or luggage at the museum.

A limited number of small lockers are available inside the museum exclusively for storing backpacks (school-type). The lockers cannot be reserved and may be used only for the duration of the visit and while availability lasts.

Visitors are allowed to carry small backpacks and bags containing personal belongings with them during the visit.

Suitcases, trolleys, scooters, large backpacks, and any other bulky luggage are not permitted inside the museum.

To access the Museum and ensure everyone’s safety, visitors' bags must go through security inspection, before the entrance to the ticket office. Items judged unsuitable (scissors, blades, nail files, Swiss knives, etc.) must be deposited with the security personnel. (These items can also be retrieved from them at the end of the visit.)

All objects, lost, mislaid or forgotten on visits to the Museo Egizio, if found in the museum, will be kept for about one month.

The message should contain:

given name;

surname;

telephone number;

type of object, with a description of it, or type of document (passport, driving license or other);

the date you lost the item.

All emails will receive an answer within 1-2 working days.
The lost property office is open Monday to Friday, 10.00-13.00 / 15.00-17.00.
